Have Fun with Sunglasses :)

Last Saturday (13 June), I accidentally broke the frame of my spectacles while having Bible Study with the Young Adults.

Then on Sunday (21 June), we went to an optician, Mr Chia, who shop is at Far East Plaza. It was such a long time since I went to Orchard.

Finally, decide to make a new spec, and replace the frame of the old spec. The children then started having fun at Mr. Chia's shop. We know Mr Chia since 1990, almost 20 years ago.

Stylo leh!!

Wah, gangster style now!!

So I decided to join in the fun!!

Just try to act funny lah!! :)

My Favourite Hideout!!

End of the month! I decided to take a break and do some personal things …

Went to Singapore Bible College library and do some reading. But the library closed at 4pm. So I was prepared to go to one place I had not been for years… (took some pictures with my handphone)

Look familiar?

MacRitchie Reservoir used to be my favourite running place. Manage to run round the normal 4.8km route twice.

Nice scenery.

It good to be back!! :)

Doing something Relaxingl!!

Some people like food. Some people like music… I like jogging

Manage to catch the sunset this evening!!

Today, I decided to leave office slightly after 6pm, the official closing time for work. Keziah and I went for a jog to the Pasir Ris Beach.

There's seldom an opportunity to jog during weekday as work and other demands take up most of my time.

There is this saying: (not sure who said it, or I make up myself)

“Life is a journey. Enjoy the roses along the way”

Your “roses” may be food, or music.
Mine is jogging.

Thoughts on Yesterday Sermon - Songs!!

Continuing the thoughts on Yesterday Sermon, Brother Chee Seng sang 2 songs and recite 1 lyrics.

So now all who preach must sing. (Die, man!)

If I am called to preach on giving and money again, so how?

1 Song would be by the Beatles - "Money",
... I don't care too much for love, money can't be me love ...

Need to 2 songs leh!

OK, second song will be "No money no talk" by the Wynners

Can or not?

Must practice singing already lah.

Economy affecting Football!!!

I am no supporter of Man-U, but ...

"9-man Man United lost 2-0 at Fulham, a result that blows the EPL title race wide open"
When economy is bad for AIG - Manchester United could not play.
(AIG is sponsor of Man-U, for those not aware of this)
And it is not once but twice. First to Liverpool and now to Fulham.
So, all football geeks ... Football is not about skill, it is about money. The players are worried about their AIG sponsors and so can't play, man!!

Lower Seletar Reservoir, anyone interested?

I went to the Lower Seletar Reservoir at about 1:40 pm this afternoon. Just to do some recce for the up and coming outing for Bethany PCES. The place is really small. Some parts are close and under renovation till March 2010.

You have to park at the HDB car park directly opposite the reservoir. Public holidays and Sunday are free parking. It's about a short 50m walk and cross the road. Not so bad. There is no entrance to the park for cars and I kept circling around and finally it dawn on me that the HDB car park is just directly across the park.

The Reservoir cater mainly for sea sport - Canoeing $15/hour for two people; Dragon boating $60/hour for 10 but need a trainer to be present; and Kayaking (did not ask for price).

For those interested in fishing, there is a fishing jetty.

Entrance to the Fishing Jetty

This is the jetty for those who want to fish

This is the exercise area, for those who are keen to improve on their Individual Physical Proficiency Test (IPPT)

The place is quite small. And probably not much facilities other than the toilet and changing facility for sea sport.
What say you?

Stretch your brain

Yesterday during lunch, (alamak, have to solve math problem for him again) my boss sent me this email:

The following is among 10 math questions given to Sec One students at Hwa Chong about a week ago. Can you solve it ? ( I can’t …… )

  • To celebrate the 2009 Math Festival, a teacher set up 2009 numbered lights in a row
  • The lights are originally switched off
  • The first student went up to all the lights that are multiples of 1 and switched them on
  • The next student then went to switch off all the lights that are multiples of 2
  • The third student then went up to the lights that are multiples of 3, and switch them on if they are off, or switch them off if they are already on
  • This process continued until the 2009th student, who then switched on or off the last light
  • The teacher then asked another student to count the number of lights that remain switched on
  • Q : How many lights did he count ?

Try it, it is not that difficult as it first seem to be.
