Brother
killing brother – big brother with huge military might killing little brother.
That’s what we saw more than 2 weeks ago when Russia invaded Ukraine, both of
the same origin and are like brothers during the Soviet era. It is sad. Even in
this era of times, we are still no different from Cain and Abel (Genesis 4:1-16 ESV) when mankind were just
starting to populate the earth. The first murder of big brother killing his
younger brother is still happening. Cain, indifferent to God was jealous of
Abel whom God was pleased is no different of Russia, or rather Putin who is an
atheist or communist choose to bomb civilians, hospital and churches because
Ukraine choose to align with the rest of Europe. Brutal brother jealous of
friendly brother?
Some lessons can be learned from this war:
#1 – Never trust others to
protect you.
USA and
Europe back off and leave Ukraine to fight for themselves in fear of escalating
into a nuclear war. They only supplies Ukraine with weapons and aids. How long
can Ukraine hold up to Russia? We don’t know. We can only pray for them.
#2 – Be united as one
against evil forces
The
Ukrainians and the President choose to fight rather than leave. The unity of
the whole nations to stand up against aggressor inspires the whole world. This
draws many support from most nations to help in refugees, supplying arms,
donations and even some going there to fight with the Ukraine.
#3 – Respect the rule of
law
Russia, who
is supposed to protect Ukraine from aggressor (along with USA and UK) under the
Baltic treaty of Ukraine giving up their nuclear weapons break that treaty and
instead become the aggressor. By breaking the law, it shows the world who the
Lawlessness is. In the end=time, the man of Lawlessness will also appear and
demand the whole world to worship him (2 Thess 2:3). This war is definitely a
pre-cursor of the end-times where more laws and treaties will be broken.
Let us rise
up in prayers for this critical situations and God’s peace & will be prevail
on all mankind.
