Getting impatience?

“Dad, the students are crossing!”

My daughter blurted out as I tried to ease my car through a seemingly never ending stream of students at the zebra crossing just outside her school this morning.

There was no road marshal to control the flow of students crossing today. School starts later on Monday.

I have been waiting at the zebra crossing for many minutes. And the students just stagger along, moving at their own sweet time with gaps in between. So, I just ease through the gap. It looks pretty harmless anyway.

Maybe I got a bit impatience after waiting for seem like a long time. As usual, I try to rationalize with her. “No lah, I just squeeze through. It quite safe

On reflection, has my action being callous? What if a student suddenly walked faster and I happened to knock him down or just cause a minor injury? Certainly, I was at fault, no matter what. What if a traffic police is around …

Love is patience, Love is kind…

It’s good that she pointed this out to me. :)
